Commissioning Engineer - Water Sector

Randstad is working with a leading provider in the UK water sector to recruit a Commissioning Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to manage commissioning activities on water and water recycling operations, ensuring compliance with company procedures and high standards of safety.
The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of commissioning on-site, working closely with the Commissioning Manager to ensure safe, compliant delivery. You will play a key role in reviewing and developing commissioning plans, engaging with design teams, and coordinating with subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Carrying out commissioning activities in a safe and compliant manner.
- Reviewing and monitoring MEICA-related project risks.
- Attending system inductions, tool box talks, and commissioning meetings.
- Liaising with design teams to ensure plant commissioning requirements are incorporated into the design.
- Reviewing design deliverables such as FDS, equipment lists, and P&IDs.
- Developing and reviewing Compliance & Commissioning Plans.
- Overseeing and signing off FAT and SAT, including process witness tests.
- Supporting the development of the commissioning programme.
- Compiling and reviewing commissioning documentation and reports.
- Collaborating with subcontractors regarding commissioning deliverables and interfaces.
- Assisting in training and O&M manual creation.
- Managing commissioning logs, daily diaries, and preparing takeover reports.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer with the following skills and experience:
- Proven electrical commissioning experience, ideally in water or water recycling operations.
- Strong knowledge of water and recycling processes.
- A valid, clean UK driving license.
- A minimum Level 3 electrical qualification.
- Experience with actuated valves, flowmeters, and telemetry systems.
- Strong attention to detail in test record keeping and closeout reports.
- Experience with communication networks, SCADA systems, and telemetry.
