Were looking for a Risk & Compliance Officer to join us at Smith Partnership, a forward-thinking, leading law firm in the Midlands, employing around 200 staff across 5 offices.

As Risk & Compliance Officer, your duties will include:
  • Working closely with the firms COLP, COFA, MLRO and MLCO to ensure the firm maintains appropriate levels of compliance to include SRA, GDPR, AML and cyber security.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest regulatory changes and ensuring the firm remains compliant.
  • Monitoring and updating all non-HR related policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring all new and existing staff adhere to those policies and encourage compliance awareness.
  • Monitoring any compliance breaches and maintain registers.
  • Reviewing and analysing risk management data including complaints, claims, file reviews client feedback, conflicts and breaches.
  • Creating a positive culture of compliance across the firm.
  • Ensuring compliance with Lexcel and assisting with the annual re-accreditation process.
  • Managing all external audits and compliance reviews.
What we are looking for in a Risk & Compliance Officer:
  • Previous experience in a compliance role within an SRA regulated environment.
  • Ability to work autonomy and as part of a team.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
