Finance Business Partner

Location: Derby (Flexible/Remote options available)

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Business Partner on behalf of a large client within the engineering and technology / sustainability sector. In this role, you'll drive business performance by preparing financial reports, providing analysis, and preparing forecasts including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and mid-term plans. You'll also partner with senior business leaders to offer financial insight and manage the financials for several key departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare periodic financial performance reports, providing insights to senior business leaders responsible for departmental budgets.
  • Manage departmental financials, ensuring appropriate cost accruals and resolving financial issues.
  • Maintain a rolling forecast and support the preparation of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and mid-term plans.
  • Ensure all budgets and forecasts are accurately loaded into relevant IT systems, maintaining accurate P&L and cash flow forecasts.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure liquidity and meet performance targets.
  • Support the analysis and reporting of business cost rate recoveries, working with teams to manage variances.

  • Timely delivery of budgets and forecasts.
  • Positive feedback from senior business partners.
  • Accurate financial management of departmental budgets.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) with at least 5 years' experience, including 2 years post-qualification.
  • Experience preparing budgets and forecasts in a fast-moving business.
  • Strong MS Excel skills; SAP experience is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to provide financial insights and challenge senior stakeholders on financial performance.
