Role - Senior Account Handler Salary - £50,000Location - Derbyshire

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Account Handler to join our client. As a Senior Account Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of a commercial insurance broker. You will work closely with Insurers and clients to provide exceptional service and support, while managing a portfolio of accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored insurance solutions
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts, ensuring all details are accurate and up-to-date
  • Collaborate with underwriters and other stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions for insurance policies
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and changes in the insurance market to provide proactive advice to clients
  • Handle inquiries, claims, and other client requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Contribute to the growth of the business through cross-selling and up selling opportunities
  • Mentor and support junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial insurance, with a strong understanding of the brokerage environment
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering exceptional customer service
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in using insurance management systems and Microsoft Office suite
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as ACII or equivalent would be advantageous

Day-to-Day

  • Communicating with brokers and clients to understand their insurance needs and provide suitable solutions
  • Managing a portfolio of accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all records
  • Collaborating with underwriters and other stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions for insurance policies
  • Staying updated on industry trends and changes in the insurance market to provide proactive advice to clients
  • Handling inquiries, claims, and other client requests in a timely and professional manner
