Responsibilities and duties

As the HV Estimator you will:

  • Effectively manage a variety of cost-planning activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to establish new opportunities and grow existing partnerships.
  • Perform detailed reviews of technical drawings and associated documentation, including the creation and analysis of cost plans and risk profiling for a diverse range of HV and ICP construction projects.
  • Conduct full measurement and detailed rating exercises.
  • Contribute to the generation of bid document content.
  • Visualise and interpret outline designs, drawings, and specifications with ease.
  • Establish tenders and manage complex bids from initial enquiry to final submission to the client team.
  • Administer the tender adjudication process, producing commercial outputs and base CVR
  • Undertake take-off and quantification of engineering/technical drawings for generating cost plans.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Bid, Design, Project, and Procurement teams to enhance commercial competitiveness while ensuring quality delivery and security of supply.
  • Identify and report risks and value-added opportunities, ensuring their consideration or mitigation in proposals.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • A relevant engineering or commercial qualification, such as a Degree or Diploma.
  • Proficiency in planning tools and software.
  • In-depth knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical supply networks, minimum of 11Kv.
  • Extensive understanding of utility networks.
  • Strong commercial acumen and awareness of the impact of decisions.
