Are you a skilled payroll professional seeking a part-time opportunity with flexibility? Our client, a well-established organisation in Derby, is looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to support their payroll function for 20 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and dynamic team while enjoying a balanced work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll efficiently in collaboration with external payroll agents.
  • Ensure all new starters are added to the payroll system and process leavers, including calculations for holiday pay, redundancy, and PILON.
  • Handle pay changes, back payments, and complete relevant tax forms such as SSP1 and P11d.
  • Administer pensions, including auto-enrollment and opt-out processes, along with employee benefits like Cycle to Work and healthcare schemes.
  • Update third-party benefit providers with employee changes.
  • Manage timesheet information, including overtime and sick pay.
  • Conduct payroll compliance checks, ensuring accuracy in NI tables and minimum wage adherence.
  • Generate monthly finance reports and provide ad hoc payroll reporting support.
  • Act as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries.
  • Support the annual pay review process and maintain accurate payroll data.

What You'll Need

  • Proven payroll administration experience, particularly with outsourced payroll.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience working with HR and payroll systems.
  • Ability to work independently, handle pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
  • A team-oriented approach with the initiative to solve minor issues and forward plan.
