Full time SEN TA required to work in a large 3 form entry school based in the Derby.
You will work 5 days a week full time, the morning will be with EYFS supporting the class teacher with the morning routine, supporting pupils with every day tasks to include personal care as and when needed.
During the afternoon you will move to a classroom to support pupils with Additional needs.
As a 1:1 TA, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to support the development and learning of a pupils with specific learning needs. You will help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting the child both academically and emotionally, to help them reach their full potential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEND in the EYFS setting.
*Support the child's social, emotional, and academic development in line with their individual education plan (IEP).
*Assist in the delivery of activities, adapting tasks to suit the child's needs.
*Provide personal care to the pupils - Toileting/Changing/Feeding
*Foster a nurturing, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
*Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to track the child's progress and ensure appropriate support is in place.
*Use a range of strategies to encourage participation and independence.
*Help with personal care and other needs as required.
*Communicate effectively with parents and staff to ensure continuity of care and learning.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
*Previous experience working with children, particularly in EYFS or with SEND, is highly desirable.
*Understanding of SEND and the ability to work with children with a range of needs.
*Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with children.
*A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting children's learning.
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
*A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
*Relevant qualification, e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent.
