About the SEN School
Opening in Summer 2025, this is a brand-new, purpose-built special school dedicated to supporting children and young people with ASC and SEMH needs. Their vision is to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where every student can thrive.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in shaping the culture and learning environment of our school from the very start.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant you will support students in their educational, social, and emotional development by:
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, tailored lessons.
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to enhance student learning.
- Supporting students in line with their Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through agreed strategies.
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Supporting students with personal care when needed, in a dignified and respectful manner.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, providing valuable feedback to teachers and families.
This role is varied, requiring flexibility and a willingness to contribute to different areas as needed.

What the School are Looking For:
- Experience working with children, ideally in a SEND or educational setting (preferred but not essential).
- A passion for supporting children with ASC and SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.
