We are seeking an English Lecturer to join a college in Derby on a temporary basis. The role involves teaching Functional Skills English from Entry 3 to Level 1 to adult learners during afternoons and evenings, across 5 days a week. The classes will be held at various locations within Derby.
Day-to-day of the role:- Deliver engaging and effective Functional Skills English lessons to adult learners from Entry 3 to Level 1.
- Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials that cater to the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to facilitate improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, and progress.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities as required.
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in English.
- Proven experience teaching Functional Skills English at Entry 3 and Level 1.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate adult learners.
- Flexibility to teach at various locations within Derby.
