About the role

Toyotas process improvement engineers play a critical role in ensuring their Mass production operations run effectively with minimum downtime.

Working closely with the maintenance teams, engineers will be responsible for:

  • Complex problem solving, resolving issues related to manufacturing machinery ensuring minimal production downtime.
  • Investigating customer reported defects relating to the process and machinery.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects such as IoT integration and condition-based monitoring, aimed at enhancing equipment performance and improving overall maintenance efficiency.
  • Supporting with the refurbishment, upgrading and installation of new machinery.
  • Manage the lifecycle of machine parts, identify obsolete components, and ensure timely procurement and integration of replacement parts.
  • Work collaboratively with other Toyota sites across Europe to share best practices and contribute to ongoing kaizen activities focused on operational and process improvements.
  • Set and manage the annual maintenance budget
  • Oversee contracts and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including management of legionella control and lifting equipment safety protocols

About you

To be considered for the process improvement engineer role you should have experience within the following:

  • Experience working within a high-volume manufacturing environment (Ideal).
  • The ability to manage complex caseloads, prioritise work and deliver on projects within strict deadlines.
  • An understanding of maintenance on a variety of production machinery.
  • Understand machine reliability and proven track record of improving OEE.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently where required.
  • A mind-set for continuous improvement, striving too always be better.
  • Qualified within an engineering discipline 2:1 or above.
