Highways and VRS Operations Manager, permanent role for an excellent candidate based in Nottingham, Derby or similar area.
This is an exciting new role for our client who are a National Highways approved contractor and working across various highways areas on VRS and Barrier schemes. This role will be reporting to the Operations Director and is part of the Senior Management Team within the business.
The Role:
- Manage existing contracts for National Highways and other clients
- Manage the team of Contracts Managers and Project Managers and ensure they are working to a high level
- Overall responsibility for projects, budgets and health & safety
- Manage workflow and network/business develop to win new business for the company
- Chair management and progress meetings
- Some travel required due to the nature of contracts around the highways area network
- Work will be from home, from the office, from site and from National Highways offices at various times
The Candidate
The ideal candidate we are looking for would have the following attributes:
- Extensive experience with National Highways contracts
- Extensive experience within area works, VRS contracts and similar
- Stong background in Operations Management, Area Management or similar
- Excellent knowledge of contracts, commercial awareness, ability to manage a large and moving workload
- Willingness to travel where required
- Experience in business development and winning more work for the business
