Payroll Officer - Leading Organisation - Hybrid Working

Are you an experienced Payroll Specialist looking for your next challenge? We are currently recruiting for a dynamic and detail-oriented payroll professional to join a well-established company. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive team and play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll.

The Role:

As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, and working closely with HR and Finance teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing monthly payrolls via outsourced payroll provider
  • Updating and maintaining payroll records and spreadsheets
  • Handling payroll-related queries from employees and management7
  • Managing leave, sickness, and overtime reports
  • Checking payroll reports to identify and resolve issues before processing
  • Working with payroll providers to ensure accurate payroll processing
  • Payroll reporting to meet internal and statutory requirements
  • Calculating and processing termination payments, salary increases, and back pay
  • Reconciling payments of Court Orders, Pensions, and PAYE
  • Supporting data collation and extraction for a new ERP system implementation

What we're Looking For:

  • We are seeking a payroll professional with:Demonstrable experience in payroll processing
  • Experience working with outsourced payroll providers
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Intermediate Excel skills and the ability to handle data
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation and an understanding of employment awards
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage a fluctuating workload
  • A customer-focused approach with a problem-solving mindset
