About the Role:

We are seeking a Warehouse Account Controller to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day administrative functions and operations of one of our warehouse client accounts. This role ensures efficiency and organisation in warehouse operations, focusing on inventory management, order processing, warehouse coordination, and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.

  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts.

Order Processing:

  • Process incoming and outgoing orders accurately and efficiently.

  • Prepare shipping documents, including packing lists, invoices, and shipping labels.

  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries.

  • Track shipments and resolve issues related to delays or losses.

Warehouse Coordination:

  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods.

  • Ensure all shipments are properly documented.

  • Organise and maintain warehouse layout to optimise space utilisation.

  • Implement and enforce warehouse policies and procedures.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, including receipts, shipments, and inventory movements.

  • Prepare and submit reports on inventory levels, order status, and warehouse performance.

  • Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) effectively.

  • Ensure HMRC records are up-to-date for bonded reporting.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and report hazards or incidents.

  • Provide training to staff on safety protocols and material handling.

  • Maintain safety training and certification records.

Customer Service:

  • Respond to customer and internal inquiries about order status and inventory availability.

  • Resolve issues or discrepancies related to orders and shipments.

  • Provide excellent customer service and build positive client relationships.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations.

  • Proficiency in inventory software, warehouse systems, and CRM.

  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.

  • Knowledge of bonded warehouse processes (advantageous).

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Additional Requirements:

  • GCSE-level qualifications in English and Maths (or equivalent).

  • High level of honesty and integrity.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.

  • Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
