The basics:
Job Title: Production Supervisor - Machining or Fabrications section
Environment: Manufacturing - Machining and Fabrication
Location: Derby
Shift pattern: Monday to Thursday 6am to 6pm
Pay: 19.45 per hour/48563 per annum plus overtime available = earnings of 53000 and upwards achievable.
Overtime: paid at 1.5 Mon-Sat and double on Sundays
Role: Permanent
Holidays: 33 days
Benefits: Death in service x2 of salary, pension
Overview:
We are now looking for an additional Production Supervisor to join the business. Working closely with the production manager you will oversee a team of approximately 35 in this fast paced precision engineering environment that consist of machining (CNC Milling and Turning) and Fabrication (sheet metal fabrication and assembly).
The Production Supervisor will be working within first class manufacturing facilities for a company that have a global presence.
The ideal candidate / Production Supervisor may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team of skilled people - the team could consist of skilled CNC machinists OR skilled sheet metal workers and assembly fitters.
- Previous experience working in a machining and fabrication environment
- A strong communicator with a think on your feet mindset
Key responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:
- Supporting the Production Manager in the efficient running of the area, being the first point of contact and helping with communication throughout the Production process to ensure that quality goods are delivered to our customers on time
- Leading the teams in meeting and exceeding customer requirements on quality, cost and delivery
- Support, develop and promote improvement activities to products and manufacturing processes
- Ensure daily hours achieved and that late to start and late to end is in line with company targets
- To manage effective handover between shifts using the SQCDP framework and co-ordinate the team's production activities in order to ensure that agreed targets are achieved and to escalate to manager any areas of concern which cannot be resolved locally within the area
- Be accountable for the appropriate management of the teams/individual's development/performance/conduct/absence in a timely manner with a consistent approach.
