The role of Workshop Supervisor is to ensure a professional approach to managing the workload within the workshop, coordinating activities to ensure smooth running and that everyone involved in the workshop performs their tasks well and that any issues are dealt with smoothly and effectively.Main responsibilities will includeMain point of contact for workshop staffMaintaining a clean and safe workshopManaging and prioritising work to ensure deadlines are metBuilding good working relationships with the Sales team to be confident enough to advise of slippages in lead times or any issues in a timely mannerRegular meetings with the Operations Manager to provide updates on individual operator performance and any additional training that is requiredResponsible for Health and Safety on the shopfloorInput into the training of new startersProvide ideas for and implement continuous improvement ideas for the workshopHave the authority to encourage and reprimand people when requiredBe a proactive member of the Operations team, solving any problems using initiative and speedManage the shop floor to drive change, implementing new systems where necessaryExecute the Production Plan to ensure adherence to committed lead timesBe the interaction between the Operation Manager and the Operatives, working closing together to issue and collate route cardsMaintain and control the tooling requirements of all operativesSome knowledge of and appreciation for welding would also be advantageousPreferred Skills / ExperienceFull driving licenseAbility to lead and motivateOrganised, with a high level of attention to detailAbility to prioritise workloads and plan accordinglyExperience providing updates to internal stakeholdersExperience implementing 5S/continuous improvement strategiesAbility to follow written and oral instructions and keep recordsA safety-conscious approach to work, the ability to work alone and as part of a teamJob Type: Full-timePay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per yearAdditonal Benefits:Company eventsCompany pensionOn-site parkingPrivate medical insuranceSick payFor more information about this role and how to apply please send your CV to or alternatively call for an informal conversation.
