Job Opportunity: Senior Construction Manager

A leading contractor in the water industry is looking to strengthen their Construction team with a Senior Construction Manager based within the Severn Trent region, overseeing projects across the Midlands. Hybrid working options may be available.
In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Operations and be responsible for managing Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability compliance across all delivered construction work. You will lead a local construction delivery team, ensuring that all construction activities are executed in line with the scheme's deliverables.
This position will oversee multiple projects across Waste and Clean Water sites, utilising both the in-house Self Delivery team and specialist subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
路Lead and manage site construction teams to deliver projects within approved budgets and timelines; facilitate project construction kick-off meetings and lead health checks.
路Oversee supplier performance in relation to safety, time, and quality, ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are suitable and comprehensive.
路Take the lead on Constructability Reviews, Project Rehearsals, and Fit for Assembly sign-offs to promote innovation and drive high performance.
路Focus on achieving zero waste and reducing embodied carbon within construction activities.
路Ensure that site teams raise the necessary contractual and commercial notices to the Project Team promptly.
路Collaborate with the Site Management team to assess long-term and short-term resource needs (labour, plant, and materials).
路Ensure full Health & Safety compliance, fostering a culture where team members feel safe and empowered to raise safety concerns.
路Promote the use of standard products and innovative techniques, helping to maintain the company's position as an industry leader.
About You
Skills/Experience
路Temporary Works experience or qualification.
路Proven project management experience.
路Degree or equivalent in a construction-related discipline.
路APMP or equivalent certification.
路Extensive experience managing large-scale construction delivery programmes.
路Industry experience in the water/wastewater treatment sector.
路Strong experience in managing and monitoring project programmes.
路Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety regulations.
路Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work closely with clients and stakeholders.
路Delivery-focused, with a strong ability to set and achieve targets.
路Capable of managing and motivating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on time, cost, and quality objectives.
路Strategic, operational, technical, and management skills with strong commercial acumen.
