Empowering Learning are delighted to be supporting a school in the central Derby are who are looking to appoint a learning mentor to begin work from November 2024.
The hours of work will be 8:15-4pm and Monday to Friday.
The main duties within this role will be:
- Providing 1:1 support to targeted pupils across KS2
- Leading intervention groups around positive communication and teamwork
- Running academic intervention sessions to help children prepare for assessments
- Leading meet and greet sessions with children in the mornings to help them settle in to school
- Liaising with the class teachers and school SENCO around progress being made
The school are looking for someone who:
- Has at least one years' experience working within a school
- Has a good understanding of supporting SEN children
- Has a teaching assistant qualification or a relevant degree
- Is able to build relationships with children
- Can be an effective communicator with colleagues and pupils
