Empowering Learning are delighted to be supporting a school in the central Derby are who are looking to appoint a learning mentor to begin work from November 2024.

The hours of work will be 8:15-4pm and Monday to Friday.

The main duties within this role will be:

  • Providing 1:1 support to targeted pupils across KS2
  • Leading intervention groups around positive communication and teamwork
  • Running academic intervention sessions to help children prepare for assessments
  • Leading meet and greet sessions with children in the mornings to help them settle in to school
  • Liaising with the class teachers and school SENCO around progress being made

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least one years' experience working within a school
  • Has a good understanding of supporting SEN children
  • Has a teaching assistant qualification or a relevant degree
  • Is able to build relationships with children
  • Can be an effective communicator with colleagues and pupils
