Long Term Futures is working with a highly regarded Ofsted Outstanding special school in Derby (DE3). We are looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team!
The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for students aged 11-16 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including autism, social-emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties.
With a strong focus on personal development and academic achievement, students here thrive, gaining GCSEs and functional skills qualifications. Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Assist in delivering engaging lessons and structured activities.
- Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and encourage student progress, fostering independence and resilience.
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children with SEN, autism, or SEMH needs (preferred but not essential).
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication skills to build trust with students.
- A team player who can work closely with teachers and support staff.
