An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Acute Medicine to join a progressive and dynamic team in Derby. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated clinician with a passion for acute care to enhance our expanding Acute Medicine service.
About the Role:
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred care within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and Same-Day Emergency Care (SDEC).
- Lead and support the rapid assessment, diagnosis, and management of acutely unwell patients.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to improve patient flow and enhance care pathways.
- Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide teaching, training, and mentorship to junior doctors and allied health professionals.
Requirements:
- Evidence of entry on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of attaining CCT at the time of the interview.
- CCT in Acute Medicine, General Internal Medicine, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong clinical skills in the management of acutely unwell patients.
- Commitment to service development, innovation, and teamwork.
