Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper

Our client, an accountancy firm practice are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to join their small friendly accounts team.

An increase in workload has opened a gap for a keen Accounts Assistant, looking to build up their current practice experience in this well-rounded role.

This is a permanent position, based just outside Dereham. Our client is open minded, and this position can be completed on a full time or part time basis.

The work will involve multiple areas to allow sufficient workflow.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Happy to converse with clients
  • Able to work in a team.
  • Experience in a similar Bookkeeping / Accounts Assistant role
  • Ability to work solely with minimum supervision
  • Have a passion to go the extra mile to support client queries
  • Must be able to work to strict deadlines
  • Practice experience an advantage
  • Qualified by experience or have an accountancy qualification, and current and relevant experience within an accountancy practice environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements for companies, sole-traders & partnerships
  • Personal and corporate tax return preparation & completion
  • Client bookkeeping and management accounts for a variety of businesses, using mainly Sage 50, Xero & QuickBooks
  • VAT return preparation & transmission
  • Prompt client contact and liaison providing a top-class service, going the extra mile
  • Supporting the Directors with new ideas for best practice and forward-thinking accounting
  • Experience of Accounts & Tax Software
