As a Metering Technician, you'll be in control of your daily schedule, managing your own workload while receiving full support from a well-established organisation.

Covering the Dereham area - You would need to be based within 30 minutes of this location

This is an initial temporary with a very strong possibility of conversion to permanent for the successful candidate on an annual salary of £27,083 + use of company vehicle, with the potential to achieve more on target earnings. You will require a manual UK driving licence.

37 hours per week - Flexible hours between of 6:30 to 20:00, including some hours on a Saturday when required to meet customer needs.Your role will involve:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain accurate readings from water meters
  • Carry out meter exchanges (Full training provided)
  • Collect meter data efficiently
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure satisfaction

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking candidates with customer service experience-particularly from retail or hospitality backgrounds. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Customer-focused and dedicated to delivering excellent service
  • Presentable and professional (uniform and company van provided)
  • Physically able to walk 3-8 miles per day
  • Comfortable using a handheld computer for work-related tasks (basic IT skills required)

Hours & Flexibility:

The role offers flexibility in organising your day, ensuring that meter reading targets are met. The working window is:

  • Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM - 8:00 PM
  • Saturday (when required): 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

This role requires early starts and occasional late finishes to accommodate customers who are home during those hours.
