Are you a skilled contract Manufacturing / Process engineer with expertise in optoelectronic subsystems and a passion for developing cutting-edge technology? GTS is seeking Contract Manufacturing / Process Engineers to work on an indicated outside IR35 project for a defence & Space company.
Key Responsibilities of the Contract Manufacturing / Process Engineer:
- Take ownership of manufacturing release, including creating drawings, instructions, labour timings, and method routes.
- Act as the subject matter expert in manufacturing technologies, collaborating with design teams, production departments, and customers on multi-channel optical communication products.
- Define and execute qualification plans for new products and capabilities in partnership with the quality team.
Requirements of the Contract Manufacturing / Process Engineer:
- Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, electronics, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in multi-channel optoelectronic package assembly, from fibre to die level.
- Demonstrated success in transitioning new products to full-volume production.
- Familiarity with fibre product manufacturing processes, equipment, and alignment of multi-fibre arrays (4, 8, or 12 channels).
- Knowledge of materials and technologies for ceramic, thick film, MCM, and PCB-based solutions.
- Advantageous: Lean manufacturing experience with tools like PFMEA and process flow mapping.
