About the Role

As the Managing Director - UK, you will oversee P&L management, customer delivery, and operational development for their UK operations in Norfolk and Hertfordshire. Your leadership will ensure that their processes align with industry best practices and that their services continuously meet and exceed customer expectations.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and Develop Teams: Inspire and manage diverse teams to achieve operational excellence, focusing on margin improvement, cost management, and KPI performance.
  • Drive Operational Efficiency: Optimise multiple distinct profit centres through automation, process improvement, and cost-per-unit analysis to grow profitability.
  • Foster Customer Success: Build lasting client relationships by understanding customer needs, onboarding new clients, and optimising existing accounts.
  • Innovate and Grow: Lead engineering innovations that enhance their competitive edge while delivering measurable value to clients.
  • Strategize for Long-Term Impact: Balance immediate business needs with long-term value creation for UK leadership team and additional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Set clear priorities and direction for the UK leadership team, ensuring high performance and bold decision-making.
  • Operational Excellence: Leverage automation and operational platforms to improve efficiency in reverse logistics, repair & refurbishment, ITAD and fulfilment operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Measure, monitor, and enhance key metrics, including cost-per-unit efficiency, across all activities.
  • Team Development: Identify skill gaps, prioritise training, and foster a culture of professional growth.
  • Business Development: In time, take ownership of the business development function, driving new opportunities and client relationships.

  • Expertise in operational excellence or LEAN manufacturing methodologies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience engaging executive teams.
  • Experience managing large operational platforms and driving process efficiencies.
  • Familiarity with solutions-based selling and leading business development or key account management teams.
  • Hands-on project management capabilities with a focus on delivering results within tight timeframes.
