This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven commercial leader to take ownership of key retail accounts and drive sustainable business growth. Based in Wiltshire, this site-based role will work closely with senior leadership to develop and execute commercial strategies.
The Role
As Head of Sales - Retail, you will play a pivotal role in managing and expanding relationships with major UK supermarket chains, ensuring strong commercial performance across both branded and own-label products. Your primary focus will be on delivering strategic growth while maintaining excellent customer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail customers to drive long-term growth.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with the company's strategic objectives.
Lead negotiations and commercial discussions to ensure profitable agreements.
Manage pricing structures and oversee the implementation of price adjustments.
Support the launch of new and seasonal products within key retail accounts.
Strengthen brand visibility and market presence through effective commercial strategies.
Lead and mentor the sales team to achieve targets and enhance performance.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Technical, and HR, to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer expectations.
About You:
We're looking for a commercially focused leader with a passion for the food manufacturing industry and a proven track record of success in retail account management. The ideal candidate will have:
Strong leadership experience in commercial or sales management within the food sector.
A solid understanding of major UK retailers
Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
Strong financial and analytical acumen to support decision-making.
Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Knowledge of industry audits, customer visits, and food safety standards such as BRC.
