Caralex Recruitment Limited are working with a national plc housebuilder who are looking to appoint a Strategic Land Manager to cover a patch of Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. 

The role is to identify, appraise and buy strategic greenfield land, either outright or under option. Then, over the next few years, the land is worked upon with the view to obtain planning and handed over to an operating region.

You will have either worked on strategic land purchases as a Land Manager or as a Town Planner. You will understand local plans and be able to make approaches to and then negotiate with land owners and their agents. 

The role will be broad, covering both the land identification, purchase, optimising into a viable housing development site, and gaining planning. 

It is important to be able to work with a variety of people, for example, networking to build and maintain land industry contacts, working professionally with external consultants such as solicitors and planning consultants, as well as the internal team members.
