A new permanent vacancy has arisen for a HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to join a secondary school based in Devizes. Ranked as 'Good’ this well-established school is seeking an experienced HLTA to work with students on a 1:1 basis, offering professional teaching and educational support across a range of subjects. Offering full time hours Monday to Friday at 37 hours per week, the annual salary is up to £27, 589 and is supported by a range of very attractive employee benefits.

You will be assisting in the preparation and delivery of a range of teaching and learning activities, consulting with the class teacher, contributing to the planning and evaluation studies, observing and reporting on student performance whilst making specific recommendations on any identified special educational needs.

As a HLTA, you will need to provide ICT support whilst in the classroom, ensuring that ICT equipment is readily available, is accessible to all and where necessary request further help from the technical team. Naturally there is a need to maintain classroom records for all students, the school equipment and materials used whilst in the lessons including conducting regular audits for inspection and replenishment. You will work in a collaborative style, maintaining and developing excellent working relationships with other teaching professionals, parents, guardians and of course the students.

We are looking to attract a HLTA with a minimum of 3 years of previous relevant experience, ideally, those candidates who have studied and obtained professional educational qualifications and where you have worked with students who seek additional support in line with SEND requirements. You will need to provide 3-5 years of professional employment references and have completed the relevant Safeguarding certification.
