We have a position available to work at the strategic heart of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) as part of the STFC Executive Office. You will be responsible for the secretariat and board support to our two Science Boards, which provide strategic advice on our grant-funded science programmes, our facilities and laboratories. This is a varied role that requires a pro-active, professional and motivated individual. 

This role is based at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire, but we support a hybrid working model. Some UK travel may be required as meetings are likely to take place at STFC/UKRI sites across the UK.

Your main responsibilities will include:

·        working with the Science Board Strategic leads and the Science Board Chairs to develop work programmes and meeting agendas

·        organising the Science Board meetings, including the distribution of meeting material and arranging the meeting logistics such as venues, catering and accommodation

·        providing the key interface for Science Board members including responding to queries, processing expenses and undertaking the annual declaration of interest exercise 

We are looking for someone with:

·        experience of working in a similar administration environment

·        experience of organising and supporting meetings including minute taking 

·        clear, concise and professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels and demonstrate a high level of discretion
