To act as Senior Site Manager across the UKRI-RAL sites, leading a team of Site Managers to deliver exceptional Site Management across complex and varied sites.

The Senior Site Manager will work with the Management Team to develop a Site Management Strategy which will ensure efficient and effective site management across sites. Utilising the skills of the team and balancing the varying needs to ensure an exceptional site management provision.

Management requirements of the role include:

  • Line management and mentoring of the Site Management team
  • Working closely with the Commercial team to ensure all relevant information is provided for costing of works, including attending subcontractor visits and internal and client meetings, as required
  • Close coordination with the Project Managers to ensure optimum allocation of Site Managers to projects and attending subcontractor visits and internal and client meetings, as required
  • Oversight of current and pending site management requirements across both sites and allocation of resources, ensuring the project management board is updated to reflect current works and provision
  • Attending internal and client weekly meetings relating to coordination of works, using the project tracker and CEMAR
  • Working with the subcontractors to increase sustainability and reduce carbon emissions on site
  • Maintain exceptional levels of H&S, run Toolbox Talks and undertake spot visits and audits, ensuring our internal Health and Safety Reporting tool is always updated

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Oversee projects and reactive maintenance running across the UKRI contract
  • Plan and manage more complex specialist projects
  • Review incoming projects and allocate the necessary internal staff resource
  • Identify and interpret project design criteria and engage specialist sub-contractors and personnel to identify solutions for implementation
  • Engage sub-contractors and support the Commercial team in surveying sites prior to construction
  • Provide support and guidance to the Project Managers and delivery team
  • Ensure all Company Procedures are being complied with
  • Ensure all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are followed
  • Be responsible for achieving high standards of quality and workmanship on site
  • Ensure adherence to site specific protocol and procedures
  • Manage and monitor sub-contractors
  • Maintain contractual records of all projects related matters via CEMAR
  • Attend and provide input on regular contract meetings with the Client
  • Introduce improvements and innovations where appropriate
  • Positively promote the company wherever and whenever possible

About You

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrate previous experience in a Senior Site Management role
  • Demonstrate strong communication and management skills
  • Extensive Building Fabric Experience
  • Experience in the delivery of commercial projects up to a value of £1mil
  • Ability to manage and deliver numerous concurrent projects of varying financial values and scope
  • Experience of managing teams and coordinating workloads
  • Excellent IT skills I.E Microsoft Office
  • Excellent presentation skills
Desireable Criteria:
  • Experience of working in the science sector
  • Ability to use CEMAR
