Job Title: HGV Technician
Salary: 41,990 - 45,139 per annum
Overview:
Alecto Recruitment are working with our client who is are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing fleet repairs in-house and ensuring our HGV fleet complies with legal and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and maintain the HGV fleet to meet legal and company standards.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and transport them to the Test Centre.
- Record vehicle defects and maintain accurate records of work performed on each vehicle.
- Repair minor accident damage and carry out fault diagnosis.
- Actively seek solutions to mechanical issues and provide excellent customer service.
- Work with vehicles, trailers, and ancillary equipment.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload effectively.
- Positive, self-motivated attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude towards work.
Qualifications:
- Commercial experience with HGVs is essential.
- Full HGV C+E licence required.
- City & Guilds part 1, 2, & 3 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
