Michelle Denny Recruitment is pleased to be partnering with Citizens Advice Diss, Thetford & District (CADAT) in searching for an experienced and forward-thinking Board Chair to guide the organisation into its next chapter. This is an opportunity for a strategic leader to drive impact, influence change, and ensure CADAT continues to be a trusted lifeline for communities across Norfolk & Suffolk.

The Board Chair will work closely with the CEO and a dedicated group of trustees, shaping strategy, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring governance is robust and effective. This role is suited to someone with strong commercial acumen, excellent leadership skills, and a genuine passion for supporting people through accessible, high-quality advice.

What the Role Involves:

  • Leading the Board, ensuring effective decision-making and strong governance.
  • Acting as a key advocate for CADAT, building partnerships and raising its profile.
  • Working alongside the CEO to develop and oversee strategic priorities.
  • Supporting financial oversight and risk management to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking Board culture.

Time commitment is approximately 14 hours per month including:

  • Preparation and attendance at Board meetings (three per year)
  • Committee Meetings (two Committees meet 3 - 4 times pa)
  • The AGM and ad-hoc events.

What’s Needed:

  • Experience in a leadership role, ideally within the charity or non-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and strategic planning.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • A passion for CADAT’s mission and a commitment to making a real impact
