Description

  • Managing a portfolio of clients with varying business sizes and sectors
  • Serving as the day-to-day point of contact for assigned clients
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Preparing and reviewing annual accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Handling complex accounting issues and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns
  • Reviewing VAT returns and other regulatory filings
  • Providing technical advice on accounting and tax matters
  • Delegating and reviewing work completed by more junior staff
  • Providing technical guidance and training to team members
  • Conducting performance reviews for direct reports
  • Managing client deadlines and workflow planning
  • Implementing and maintaining internal control procedures
  • Reviewing work to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Demonstrating proficiency with cloud accounting platforms (like those mentioned in their credentials)
  • Advising clients on appropriate accounting software solutions
  • Assisting with software implementation and training for clients

Profile

  • Fully qualified accountant or QBE with 10-15 years practice experience (must bee AAT level 4)
  • Strong background in preparing accounts and tax returns for SMEs
  • Experience managing client relationships directly
  • Proficient with cloud accounting platforms (particularly those the firm is accredited for)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, especially UK GAAP
  • Solid tax compliance knowledge (personal, corporate, and VAT)
  • Experience supervising junior staff and reviewing their work
  • Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team management
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining efficiency
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively
  • Self-motivated with good initiative and problem-solving abilities
  • Commercial awareness to identify client needs and opportunities
  • Relationship-building skills to develop long-term client trust
  • Mentoring capability to develop junior staff
