Reporting to Operations Director

Purpose of the Role:

The assistant management accountant will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the accounts function at site level.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Assisting with the preparations of Management accounts, financial reports and statutory accounts

• Reconciliations: Preparing accurate reconciliations

• Financial Data: Recording, reviewing and analysing financial data

• Collaboration: Working with leadership team to provide financial information and advice

• Administrative Tasks: Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers

• Cash Flow: Maintaining accurate cash flow forecasts

• Payroll Preparation: Prepare payroll data for c 80 members of staff across two sites

• Preparing and submitting Pension, VAT, PAYE and Tax Submissions

• Supporting Directors with ad hoc duties such as sourcing funding, lenders, banking facilities etc

• Processing Payments: Ensuring that financial obligations are met and processed accurately and on time

• Establishing Relationships: Establish and maintain good working relationships with suppliers, customers and colleagues

Requirements:

• The right candidate should have previous experience within a similar role, have excellent communication skills, be confident working within a senior leadership team.

• The candidate should have a good knowledge of excel and have previous experience using Sage Line 50 and sage payroll. The ideal candidate will hold relevant accounting qualifications such as AAT level 3 or CIMA, although this is not essential for a candidate with the right experience.
