Description

The key responsibilities of a Management Accountant will include:

  • Management Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and identifying variances from actuals.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis and identify areas for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and profit maximisation.
  • Financial Planning: Support strategic planning by providing financial projections, scenario analysis, and financial modelling.
  • Business Partnering: Work closely with department heads and senior management to provide financial guidance and support on key business decisions.
  • Variance Analysis: Analyse variances between actual results and budget/forecasts, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure financial processes comply with relevant regulations, standards, and internal controls.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, processes, and reporting tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.

Profile

A successful Management Accountant should have:

  • Highly proficient Excel user (pivot & look up tables, modelling financial data etc)
  • Excellent strategic planning and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong understanding of business financial and reporting processes.
  • Extremely organised, able to meet deadlines and manage workload.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • Professional accreditation in Accounting & Finance.
