Accounts Assistant – Doncaster

CVA is one of the leading auction houses in the UK, whilst predominantly known for being the most established HGV auctioneers in the country, they sell a wide range of assets across their regular sales programme that includes trucks & trailers, cars & vans, plant & machinery as well as holding several onsite retirement / dispersal sales each year.  They are widely regarded as being at the front of industry innovation, representing a broad portfolio of clients ranging from owner operators and small businesses, though too some of Europe’s largest blue-chip companies, banks & finance houses.

CVA are now looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their established team in Doncaster.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain spreadsheets for the department
  • Work with sales and purchase ledger and credit control
  • Process sales orders
  • Process payments, invoices and expense forms
  • Working closely with individuals across the business at all levels
  • Enter and code financial transactions appropriately in accordance with statutory and company rules and regulations
  • Reconcile invoices received with departmental billings
  • Issue invoices to customers based on services rendered and or goods sold
  • Process and track payments
  • Calculate and check to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct
  • Make bank deposits and ensure accuracy of information
  • Track expenses as they relate to specific projects and jobs
  • Validate invoices against items or services received
  • Check all financial transactions for accuracy
  • Key data into company accounting system
  • Assist with bank reconciliation statements
  • Analysis of credit card statements
  • Assist with data analysis when required
  • Petty Cash Reconciliation
  • Supplier Statement Reconciliations
  • Allocating Bank receipts

The Ideal Accounts Assistant:

  • Knowledge of accounting terminology
  • Excellent team working and customer service skills
  • Practical experience with accounting systems in a working environment
  • Strong numeracy, administrative skills and organisational skills
  • Effective attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Sage Line 50
  • Good analytical skill
  • Knowledge of accountant rules and legislation
  • Ability to detect inconsistencies
  • Good prioritisation and communication skills.
  • Data entry skills
  • Understanding and respect for the confidential nature of the work
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages, Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Monday to Friday
