We are looking for a Design Engineer for a permanent position based with our client in Doncaster.

Immediate start (subject to the interview process)

Salary is 38,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Main Duties.

  • High level of competency in creation of 3D models and corresponding drawing package, BOM, and structured part numbers
  • Create and review drawings and designs to ascertain compliance with customer specifications, and organizational guidelines to ensure product is workable and manufacturable
  • Lay out on CAD system new or modified products and parts in 2-D and 3-D models to meet customer specifications
  • Create on CAD system detail part drawings in 3-D models required by customer specifications
  • Review and investigate design alternatives and ensure all factors are considered to meet customer specifications, new products and revisions
  • Compare data from engineering bill-of-material to customer specifications to verify conformance
  • Prepare clear, complete, and accurate detailed drawings
  • Respond to inquiries pertaining to drawings from other departments
  • Input product structure design and data to formulate BOMs and revise existing structures
  • Basic understanding of drawing standards and GD&T per ANSI Y14.5
  • Fundamental understanding of tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Capable of performing simple analysis
  • Capable of using 3D solid modeling tools
  • Examine and inspect products at various stages of manufacture to maintain quality and reliability, especially with first articles

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all site and regulatory requirements, including relevant training, risk assessment, method statements, etc.
  • Report safety issues, incidents and near misses
  • Contribute to safety investigations
  • Actively work to improve the site safety systems and culture
  • Engage in a zero-harm culture
  • Attend and complete training as identified to maintain competence / qualification / compliance
  • Comply with company policies and agreements
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and maintain working environment
  • Any other duties as required by line manager, commensurate with the position and post holders' level of training and competence.
