Role Overview:

As a Business Development Manager, you will focus on developing and expanding a portfolio of business accounts, working across various sectors to promote our client’s solutions. Our client's USP is the creation of efficient solutions, not a reduction in price, with the objective being the building of profitable, sustainable, long-term client relationships.

You will engage with stakeholders at all levels, from operational staff to senior executives, helping them to identify and adopt sustainable business practices. You’ll also collaborate closely with a dedicated bid team to create compelling proposals that generate social, economic, and environmental value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Generation: Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through a mix of self-generated leads and company resources.
  • Client Engagement: Present tailored solutions to clients at all levels, including on-site operations and boardroom stakeholders.
  • Proposal Management: Work with the bid team to project manage the creation and submission of high-quality proposals.
  • Target Achievement: Consistently meet and exceed sales targets, contributing to the company’s growth strategy.
  • Sustainability Advocacy: Help businesses transition to more sustainable and circular business models, reducing their environmental impact.
What You Bring:
  • Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally within the environmental sector.
  • Strong track record of selling outsourced solutions based on efficiency, to commercial and industrial clients.
  • Confidence and gravitas to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver compelling, solution-driven proposals.
  • Ability to work independently, managing a sales pipeline and collaborating effectively with the bid team.
  • Full UK driving license (company car provided).
