- Budget & Resource Management: Assist in managing the home’s budget and resources to ensure efficient operations.
- Building Relationships: Foster positive relationships with children, families, professionals, and the wider community to ensure open communication and collaboration.
- Admissions & Safeguarding: Oversee appropriate assessment and admission processes for children, ensuring safeguarding practices are adhered to.
- Staffing & Supervision: Organize duty rotas and ensure adequate staff coverage at all times. Supervise, mentor, and train the staff team to maintain high standards of care.
- Care Plans & Quality Assurance: Lead the development and implementation of care plans tailored to each child’s needs, regularly auditing care quality and implementing improvement strategies.
- Regulation Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and the Ofsted inspection framework, maintaining high standards of care.
- Building & Safety: Act as the building manager, ensuring compliance with Fire, Environmental, and Health & Safety regulations.
- Recruitment & Development: Recruit and induct new staff, supporting their professional growth and ensuring they have the skills needed to provide quality care.
- Experience: Recent experience in a supervisory or management role within a residential setting for children, particularly those with emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of Ofsted regulations and quality standards.
- Qualifications:Level 3 QCF Children & Young People (or equivalent) is desirable; Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Care is highly desirable.
- Flexibility & Commitment: Ability to work flexibly, including above normal hours during times of crisis, and a willingness to undertake required training, including physical restraint where needed.
