We’re looking for a dynamic and suitably experienced Commercial Projects Manager to drive new business streams, lead market research, anticipate and mitigate project risks, and ensure all new ventures are legally and financially sound.

This role is ideal for a strategic and hands-on professional who can identify market opportunities, conduct research, develop financially sound projects, and see them through to successful execution. We’re seeking someone who thrives on autonomy and can independently drive new business initiatives from concept to implementation.

The Commercial Projects Manager will work closely day to day with the Directors of this SME, and will be at the forefront of developing and expanding the business portfolio, spearheading the exploration and execution of new business streams. This includes everything from initial research and risk management and assessing market potential, to creating and overseeing budgets and managing project feasibility and compliance. If you thrive in a strategic role that combines research, risk assessment, and financial management, this position offers a unique opportunity to shape the business growth trajectory.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Independent Project Management: Take full ownership of new business initiatives, working autonomously to drive projects from conception through to passing over to teams for final implementation.
  • Research: Focus on looking into new revenue opportunities, conducting market research, and developing actionable strategies for market entry.
  • Risk Management: Proactively anticipate challenges, assess risks, and develop contingency plans to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Implementation Focus: Oversee every stage of project implementation, ensuring that plans are executed on time, on budget, and to specification.
  • Legal and Compliance Oversight: Collaborate with legal experts to ensure that all business activities comply with local, regional, and industry regulations - both at research and implementation stages.
  • Budget Management: Prepare, monitor, and manage budgets for each new project, ensuring profitability and cost control.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely the Directors and with internal colleagues as well as building productive relationships with external stakeholders to gather insights, build buy-in, and drive projects forward efficiently.

Experience: 5+ years in a commercial management, business development, or related role with a proven track record in identifying, developing, and managing new revenue streams.

Skills: Strong research, analytical, and financial management skills, with proven experience in project implementation and budget oversight.

Attributes: Self-starter, highly organized, and adept at independently managing complex, multi-stage projects through to completion
