A Superb opportunity has arisen for a Head of Commercial to join an award-winning financial service business based in South Yorkshire or Derby, the role can be based at either or both offices.

This is an exciting new opportunity in our Commercial division with a role which is diverse and demanding.

They have grown 100% in Premium income in the last 4 years and our board is looking to do the same over the next 5 years with the right person at the helm.

The Role:

  • You will be managing the commercial division consisting of a team of Broking staff and Business Development managers. You will be maintaining and developing relationships with our insurer panel and you will be assisting in managing some of our larger portfolio clients.
  • Monitor personal and team members' performance against objectives, forecasts, plans, targets and budgets, carry out appraisals and performance reviews and provide regular feedback to the CEO
  • Prepare and agree on monthly and annual sales forecasts, targets, plans and budgets for your respective sales area and be responsible for achieving these.
  • To support the business unit in the generation of tenders for all opportunities
  • You will be responsible for the implementation of the group commercial strategy and supporting all commercial activities and controls.
  • You will report directly into the group CEO
  • Our offices are based in South Yorkshire and Derby and the role can be based at either or both offices.

The ideal candidate:

  • Role will suit a candidate with a minimum of 5 years commercial experience with experience of placing/negotiating premiums with insurers, leadership experience or at least aspirations and ideally but not essentially some experience of customer facing business development.
  • Experience within the insurance industry is essential
  • You need to be proactive, and analytical, use your initiative and show us your entrepreneurial spirit to identify opportunities to retain and grow our business.
  • Able to take ideas from concept to delivery to create value for both our users and partners
  • Must be a strong influencer with experience of working with senior stakeholders
  • Strongly data-driven
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the problems we are solving, and an ability to use creativity and initiative in pursuit of these goals
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in presenting ideas to internal and external stakeholders

What they are offering:

  • Salary will be £60k - £75k with OTE Bonus potential to £90k
