Health and Safety Manager

Bennett and Game are currently working with a specialist contractor, established in 2009 and is a rapidly expanding and innovative company which provides a broad range of specialist services. They aim to provide a quality, cost effective service whilst ensuring the safety of operatives and others are maintained throughout our works. As the Health and Safety Manager, you will be working on some very exciting and specialist projects with some of the largest contractors across the UK. It is envisaged that the successful Health and Safety will have previous heavy civil engineering experience either in infrastructure or tunnelling. Our client is currently certified to ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO4500.

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices in all company procedures and day-to-day activities.
• Conduct inspections and audits of company projects/sites, advising on necessary actions and ensuring timely completion.
• Lead investigations and reporting of accidents and near misses, liaising with external parties such as HSE.
• Coordinate internal auditing schedules, ensuring all audits are conducted on time and effectively resolving any non-conformances or observations.
• Maintain functional management systems in accordance with ISO standards through continual review and improvement.
• Liaise with external accreditation bodies and manage external audit processes.
• Coordinate and attend company management system meetings and deliver Health & Safety/IMS induction training for new staff members.
• Prepare monthly health & safety reports, statistics, and present the H&S Dashboard for review.

• Relevant professional qualification such as NEBOSH.
• Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
• Extensive knowledge of health and safety management strategies and best practices.
• Detailed understanding of current health and safety legislation, particularly in heavy civil engineering industry
• CSCS qualification and a full UK driving license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and ability to write regular reports.

• Salary: 48k - 60k \ DOE
