A for Appointments are proud to be supporting an established/award-winning Financial services company based in Doncaster, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Finance Manager. Operating within a fast-paced high-growth industry you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate management accounting information, and analysis and contribute to the efficient and controlled operation of the finance department.

Summarised Job responsibilities:

  • Oversee production of monthly management accounts and commentary on reporting deadlines for several operating companies.
  • Production of regular and ad-hoc reports including weekly cash-flow forecasts, cost analyses etc.
  • Day-to-day management and development of processing and junior reporting staff.
  • Ongoing review of processes and help to foster an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure efficient operation of key control activities including bank controls and reconciliations, VAT returns and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Production of regulatory returns.
  • Year-end statutory accounts and liaison with auditors
  • Produce and maintain detailed procedures documents for all responsibilities.

The ideal candidate:

  • High-level interpersonal skills - the ability to build successful, mutually beneficial business relationships at all levels.
  • Proactive planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Problem solver.
  • Diligent with strong attention to detail
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting and regulatory standards and rules.
  • Develop a good understanding of the business as well as financial issues.
  • Competent in Excel

Qualifications:

  • Significant progress towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA. Support through to completion will be offered.
  • AAT also qualified as an advantage.

Technical knowledge:

  • Sound understanding of bookkeeping and management accounts.
