PURPOSE OF ROLE 

Lawes Consulting Group are partnering with an expanding insurance broker who is seeking an Operations Manager to join the business due to a sustained period of growth. 

In this role, you will be working closely with the Head of Commercial, being responsible for analysing how the division functions, from identifying how existing procedures can be streamlined, compliance levels maintained to assist in the business as it grows, and ensure systems are being utilised fully in terms of capturing data effectively and in a time efficient manner. 

Being a newly created stand-alone position with the business, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to play an integral role in building and developing the structure of the business whilst expanding on their own experience in line with the growth of the commercial division.

EXPERIENCE 

  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager, preferably within an insurance brokerage environment.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance brokerage operations, including compliance, underwriting, and claims processes.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.  
  • Proficiency in using the Acturis trading platform. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Relevant insurance qualifications are desirable but not essential.  

SKILLS 

  • Possess strong organisational and project management skills.  
  • The ability to analyse data effectively and take a holistic view of the company's processes.  

DAY-TO-DAY 

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the insurance brokerage, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.  
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.  
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to improve productivity and service delivery.  
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.  
  • Collaborate with senior management to align operational strategies with business goals.  
  • Manage relationships with insurers, underwriters, and other third-party providers.  
  • Analyse operational performance metrics and implement improvements to drive results.  
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of brokerage software and systems.  
  • Handle escalated client issues and ensure timely resolution.  
  • Support business growth initiatives by optimizing operational processes and resources.  
  • Prepare and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
