School Governor at Pennie View School

Pennie View School is a Doncaster based special school for children between the ages of 7-16, who take a restorative approach to guarantee the pupils are fully prepared to allow for success. The school is part of Nexus Academy Trust. Bader Academy is seeking a number of new Governors.

Governors are volunteers who have an interest in improving outcomes for children and young people.

As a governor you would work alongside other people in the Academy Council for the school. These are made up of Staff Governors, Parent Governors, Community Governors, Headteacher and officers from the Nexus Central Trust Team. As a Parent Governor you would need to have a child who is a pupil on roll at the school you are interested in.

As a team you would receive information and reports related to the school’s

• Self-Evaluation
• School Improvement Plan
• Pupil and Community Voice

Meetings are scheduled in the daytime during the school day or evenings, depending on the individual school and the dates are set a year in advance. Meetings generally last for 2 hours and there is one meeting per term.
