GSL Education are searching for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Supply Teacher to join a fantastic school in Doncaster. This is your chance to share your love for science, engage students in hands-on learning, and make a real difference in their educational journey.

Being a Science Supply Teacher, you will have the responsibility to maintain a high standard of teaching during periods of teacher absence. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a vibrant learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging and dynamic science lessons to students across various year groups, following pre-established lesson plans and adjusting them as necessary to suit the classroom environment.
  • Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom atmosphere where students are encouraged to actively participate, ask questions, and express their ideas freely.
  • Support students in their understanding of scientific concepts across subjects such as biology, chemistry, and physics, fostering both their academic and practical skills.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to help them improve and achieve their full potential.
  • Assist with classroom management to ensure a focused, respectful, and safe learning environment.
  • Prepare students for assessments by helping them review key scientific principles and providing constructive guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth continuation of learning during the teacher's absence and contribute to the overall success of the department.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a background in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
  • Previous experience as a Science Supply Teacher or in a similar teaching role would be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of the science curriculum and the ability to teach across all key stages.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage students and make science lessons enjoyable and accessible for all.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
