OverviewWe are looking for an IT Apprentice to join Ninehundred Communications Group, an established Doncaster-based company specialising in bespoke communication products for key sectors across the UK

This position is an excellent opportunity to kickstart your IT Career, you will be responsible for providing first-line technical support to our clients, resolving IT issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires a deep understanding of IT systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users.

Key Responsibilities: Technical Support:

  • Provide first and second-line support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to desktops, laptops, printers, servers, network devices and Cloud platforms (office 365) and assist clients with installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of system hardware and software.

Customer Service:

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or ticketing system promptly and professionally and escalate complex issues to senior technical staff or vendors when necessary, ensuring timely resolution.

System Maintenance and Monitoring:

  • Perform regular maintenance tasks on client systems, including updates, patches, and backups and monitor system performance and network stability, proactively addressing potential issues.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with other IT support team members and departments to resolve customer issues.Participate in team meetings to share knowledge, updates, and process improvements.

Product Knowledge:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the products and services offered by the company, especially those related to hardware, software, and IT solutions provided to clients.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to clients on best practices, product usage, and potential upgrades.

What we are looking for: Essential skills: 

  • Willingness to learn about managing and troubleshooting hardware. 
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 suite and eagerness to learn its integration into business environments. 
  • Strong communication skills, able to interact with team members and non-technical users. 

Personal attributes: 

  • Commitment to producing quality work and understanding its impact on the business with a high level of initiative and reliability. 
  • Ability to learn to work under pressure, prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively. 
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail. 

Entry requirements: 

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject 
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above) 
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject 

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
