Job Title: Criminal Defence SolicitorSalary: £35,000 to £50,000Location: Central DoncasterContract: Full Time, PermanentRole Overview & Daily Responsibilities:Manage a diverse caseload of criminal defence matters, including cases involving theft, assault, drug offences, fraud, and more. Advise clients on criminal defence strategies, providing clear, practical, and commercially focused legal advice. Prepare and draft court documents, including Statements of Case, Defence Statements, and bail applications. Represent clients at police stations, Magistrates' Courts, and Crown Courts, ensuring robust representation at every stage of the legal process. Conduct legal research and analysis to support defence strategies, ensuring compliance with criminal law and procedures. Liaise with clients, witnesses, experts, and third parties to gather evidence and provide updates on case progress. Negotiate pleas, reductions in charges, and sentences where applicable, striving to achieve the best possible outcome for clients. Ensure all cases are managed in accordance with agreed timelines and within budget, keeping clients informed and involved throughout the process. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, assisting in their professional development within the field of criminal law.
