Job Description:

As a Probate Legal Assistant, you will support our probate solicitors in managing the administration of estates. Your role will be essential in ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of probate matters from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting solicitors with the management of probate files.
  • Preparing and drafting legal documents, including wills, grants of probate, and letters of administration.
  • Conducting asset searches and valuations.
  • Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and other relevant parties.
  • Managing and updating case management systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and firm policies.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents.
  • Providing excellent customer service and maintaining client confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a probate admin / legal assistant role.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Desirable:

  • Legal qualification or training.
  • Experience with estate administration and inheritance tax matters.
