Salary: Starting at £38,658 + 8.5% all-inclusive allowance
Shift Pattern: 148 hours on a 4-week rota, including 2 weekends on and weekends off. Shifts include 7-3, 2-10, and sleep-in shifts (2-11). In the absence of the manager, you will take up the manager's hours (8-4).
Are you an experienced and compassionate leader with a passion for supporting vulnerable children? We are looking for a Deputy Residential Manager to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of a children's residential home, providing guidance and leadership while ensuring the highest standards of care and support for the children in our service.
About the Role As a Deputy Residential Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Registered Manager in managing the home and ensuring that all children receive the highest level of care in line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015. In the absence of the Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the home.
Key Responsibilities Your core duties will include:
- Budget & Resource Management: Assist in managing the homes budget and resources to ensure efficient operations.
- Building Relationships: Foster positive relationships with children, families, professionals, and the wider community to ensure open communication and collaboration.
- Admissions & Safeguarding: Oversee appropriate assessment and admission processes for children, ensuring safeguarding practices are adhered to.
- Staffing & Supervision: Organize duty rotas and ensure adequate staff coverage at all times. Supervise, mentor, and train the staff team to maintain high standards of care.
- Care Plans & Quality Assurance: Lead the development and implementation of care plans tailored to each childs needs, regularly auditing care quality and implementing improvement strategies.
- Regulation Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Childrens Homes Regulations and the Ofsted inspection framework, maintaining high standards of care.
- Building & Safety: Act as the building manager, ensuring compliance with Fire, Environmental, and Health & Safety regulations.
- Recruitment & Development: Recruit and induct new staff, supporting their professional growth and ensuring they have the skills needed to provide quality care.
- Experience: Recent experience in a supervisory or management role within a residential setting for children, particularly those with emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of Ofsted regulations and quality standards.
- Qualifications: Level 3 QCF Children & Young People (or equivalent) is desirable; Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Care is highly desirable.
- Flexibility & Commitment: Ability to work flexibly, including above normal hours during times of crisis, and a willingness to undertake required training, including physical restraint where needed.
