  • Job Type: Full-time (Mon to Thu or Tues to Friday from 6am to 3.30pm)

Join our Regeneration and Environment team as a Street Scene Operative, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the streets and public areas throughout Doncaster. This position is ideal for someone who is dedicated to enhancing community environments and has a strong commitment to health and safety standards.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Maintain streets and public areas according to their needs and designed maintenance programs, ensuring service standards benefit the residents of Doncaster.
  • Perform general duties outdoors in all weather conditions, including tasks allocated for seasonal work and emergency call-outs.
  • Act as a point of contact for customer service requests, handling enquiries professionally and maintaining good customer relationships as an ambassador for Doncaster Council.
  • Undertake additional multi-skilled tasks in other service areas as needed to ensure year-round service continuity.
  • Use appropriate equipment safely, including mobile technology, and report any unsafe conditions or occurrences to the line manager.
  • Provide professional support and share good practices within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to the role.
  • Experience using various horticultural and street cleansing equipment.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems.
  • Experience in customer-facing service delivery.
  • Willingness to undertake further training to enhance skills within the role.
  • Be able to do manual work
