Inspector at the Bogie Division, Doncaster. This is an hourly paid role and will involve working shifts, rotating weekly. The position is responsible for inspecting rail bogies prior to, during and following the bogie overhaul process which is undertaken by the production teams. Inspections are to be done in line with standards and specifications and all results are to be reported, measured and monitored.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bogie final inspectionprocess;ensuring bogies are correct prior to despatch

Goods inwards bogie inspection, as required

Preparation of documentation

Reporting quality issues raised during inspection to Production Management and the Production Engineering Manager

Involvementwith improving inspection and testing methods

Preparing quality control reports/documentation

Involvement in internal audits and first article inspections

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

Ability to understand/interpret manufacturing documents e.g. engineering drawings

Experience of working inaengineering/production environment

Good product knowledge

Good problem solving and logic skills

Ability to communicate with internal and external customers

Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

Good IT/Systems skills

Rail industry knowledge and experience

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

minimum two years experience in a quality position

Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical discipline.
